Cristiano Ronaldo set to earn Rs 2000 Crore per year against his new 2-year contract with Al-Nassr

Cristiano Ronaldo who signed a new contract with Al-Nassr for the next two years will be warning an astronomical amount according to a report published by Talksports. According to the report, Ronaldo is set to earn 178 million pounds per year (approx 400 million Euros or INR 2000 crore over the next two years), after signing a contract extension at Al-Nassr. The deal also includes the following: 24.5 million pounds signing bonus (increases to 38 million pounds in the second year), 8 million pound bonus if Al Nassr win the Saudi Pro League, 5 million pound bonus if Al Nassr win the Asian Champions League, 4 million pound bonus for winning the golden boot and 15% ownership of Al Nassr (estimated at 33 million pounds) The Portuguese goalscorer superstar arrived in 2023 in the kingdom to play with the club, heralding a rush of players in the latter stages of their careers to the oil-rich country. Last month, Ronaldo posted “This chapter is over” hours after the Saudi Pro League wrapped up with Al Nassr finishing third and trophyless once again. “Ronaldo’s presence is a key factor in developing the Saudi league in the last two years and a half. He opens the door for elite and young players to come to Saudi Arabia,” a source from the Public Investment Fund (PIF), a major investor in Saudi football, told AFP last month. The oil-funded PIF, the sovereign wealth fund behind a number of big-ticket Saudi investments, controls a group of Pro League clubs including Al Nassr, Al Hilal, and Al Ahli.

“Something against West Indies”: Coach Sammy alleges against third umpire’s biased work ethics!

West Indies head coach Darren Sammy raised questions on the impartiality and work ethics of the third umpire Adrian Holdstock for his controversial decisions against the West Indies during their first Test against Australia. The TV umpire gave five highly debatable decisions across two days, with the majority of them going against West Indies. Following play on the second day, Sammy expressed displeasure over Holdstock’s umpiring and wondered if the official had anything against the team. Speaking to reporters, the West Indies head coach stated that the team was seeking consistency and that they were trying to understand what the process was. Singling out Holdstock, Sammy claimed that he had been behaving in his particular manner against the Windies from the England series onwards. “Yeah, look, you don’t want to get yourself in a situation where you’re wondering about certain umpires. Is there something against this team? But when you see decision after decision, then it raises the question. I know he’s here for the series. You don’t want to go to a Test match having that doubt,” Sammy said. The West Indies coach further said that the team would wait to see if they want to lodge a formal complaint against the official. Sammy said that he hopes for a conversation, adding that the team did not want to head into the Test match without trusting the umpires. “So I want to have that conversation as to the process. So we could be all clear because, at the end of the day, you don’t want to be going into a Test match not trusting the umpires. And that’s not what our team is about. So we’re just looking for some clarity as to the decisions,” he added. Sammy said that the team was well aware of the rules and the fines that would be imposed for speaking against officials publicly. However, he claimed that despite these controversial calls, West Indies were still in a position to win the game. “We know the rules. We know fines going all across the board,” he said. “I don’t want them to focus on that. Yes, we’re kind of shooting ourselves in the foot by dropping so many catches, but look at the Test match, where these decision were given against us. But we are still in a position to win,” Sammy said.

Bumrah’s availability for the second Test is still uncertain!

Ace Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah’s availability for the forthcoming second India-England is yet to be ascertained as a report claims that the decision will be taken by Gautam Gambhir, Ajit Agarkar, and Shubman Gill. The India head coach earlier confirmed that the fast bowler will not be a part of all five Tests as a part of his workload management. With the first Test ending on 24th June and the 2nd set to begin on 2nd July, India have a seven-day break currently. As per news agency PTI, a BCCI source pointed out there was nearly a week’s gap between the 1st and the 2nd Test. The source informed that the decision on whether Bumrah will play at Edgbaston will be taken by coach Gambhir, chief selector Agarkar, and captain Gill. The source added that the pacer will be assessed a day before the ENG vs IND 2nd Test and then a final call will be taken. “Bumrah has close to a week’s gap between first and second Test. So the decision rests with chief selector Ajit Agarkar, the coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Shubman Gill. They might assess him a day before the Test, and take a final call,” the source stated. India are being very cautious about Bumrah after he picked up a back injury towards the end of the series against Australia. The injury saw him be on the sidelines for nearly four months. Following his comeback, Bumrah confirmed that he will not be playing all five Tests in England, something which was agreed upon by the team management as well. India were once again too dependent on Bumrah in the 1st Test in Leeds. He managed to take his 14th five-wicket haul in the 1st innings but went wicketless in the 2nd despite bowling long spells.
