Kevin Sibille Returns to Spain For A Month

Kevin Sibille has been ruled out for nearly a month. The defender suffered a hamstring injury during an in-house practice match. What first looked minor gradually became serious.

He was unable to train fully. He could not take part in intense sessions. Even his rehabilitation did not begin as planned. Though he remained under medical supervision in Kolkata, the recovery process was slow.

After speaking to his personal doctor, Sibille decided to return to Spain. He wants specialised treatment. He hopes for a quicker recovery. For now, he will continue his treatment there. Reports suggest he may not return before a month.

This is a major setback for East Bengal FC. They are set to face NorthEast United FC on February 16 in the ISL. Head coach Oscar Bruzon now has serious selection concerns.

The worries do not end with Sibille. Naorem Mahesh is unlikely to feature in the early matches. Mohammad Rakip will also miss the opening game. The season is yet to begin. But East Bengal are already under pressure.
