FC Goa Succeed To Win a Point Against East Bengal

East Bengal failed to convert their chances and had to settle for a frustrating draw against FC Goa in their Indian Super League clash. Despite creating a few promising opportunities and registering three shots on target, the Red and Gold brigade could not find the decisive goal.

The first real scare for Goa came late in the first half. In the 43rd minute, Rashid tried his luck from long range. His dipping effort troubled Goa goalkeeper Hrithik, who fumbled while attempting to collect it. The ball nearly slipped into the net but fortunately for the keeper, it struck the crossbar and bounced away.

East Bengal continued to push forward after the break but struggled to make their attacks count. In the 64th minute, Miguel found himself in a promising position in the final third. However, instead of passing to a teammate, he attempted a shot while surrounded by three defenders and lost possession. His decision-making in the attacking third proved costly for the hosts.

Another opportunity arrived in the 83rd minute. Vishnu delivered a cross towards the far post and Bipin made a well-timed run to meet it. However, his contact with the ball lacked power and direction, allowing the Goa goalkeeper to deal with it comfortably.

The match also saw a disciplinary moment when PV Vishnu received a yellow card for bringing down Boris during a Goa attack.

Deep into stoppage time, East Bengal had one final opportunity. Rashid and Miguel worked a short free-kick routine in the 90+3rd minute, but the move failed to produce the finishing touch.

In the end, East Bengal’s inability to convert their chances meant they had to settle for a share of the points despite a spirited performance.
