1-1 draw, India against Kuwait

Thanks to this result, Kuwait topped Group A while India finished second.

Three red cards were shown as India and Kuwait played out a 1-1 draw in the SAFF Championship 2023 in
Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru.

The game ended with both sides reduced to ten men, and India head coach Igor Stimach once again being sent off,  this time for objectionable words to the match officials.

While India head coach Igor Stimac and Rahim Ali were shown red cards for the hosts, Kuwait footballer Alqallaf was sent off.

Sunil Chhetri scored the opening goal but India were denied victory after a disappointing own goal from Anwar Ali.

Thanks to this result, Kuwait topped Group A while India finished second.

While both teams had the same number of points from three matches, Kuwait finished on top as they scored more goals.

India finishing second in the group now means that they will likely face Lebanon in the semifinals on Saturday, having already faced them twice earlier this month at the Intercontinental Cup.
