32 teams will participate in the second Bidhannagar Gold Cup Football Tournament

The second Bidhannagar Gold Cup Football Tournament will be held From 7th to 14th May 2023 at Bidhannagar.

The second Bidhannagar Gold Cup Football tournament will be held from 7th to 14th May 2023, at Bidhannagar. 32 teams from the 116 Bidhannagar Assembly Constituency will be participating in the tournament. The games will be conducted around 10 grounds out of which seven are having the advantage of flood light. The opening ceremony will be on 7th May 2023 at the GD Block ground, Salt Lake. 
In the seven-a-side tournament, every team will be allowed to register a maximum of 10 players. The organizers have announced a cash award of INR 3 lakhs for the winners and INR 2 lakhs for the runners while the two semi-finalists will receive a cash award of INR 50000. Besides the best player’s award in each match, the Man of the Tournament will receive a two-wheeler. 
After the success of the inaugural year, the organizers are expecting a large crowd to turn up. They are confident that the tournament will leave a mark in the minds of Bengal football lovers and fans. The initiative is spearheaded by the Honourable Minister of Fire and Emergency Services, Government of West Bengal, Sujit Bose. Under the management of RPJ Sporting Boundaries, Bidhannagar Gold Cup Committee is organizing the tournament.
The tournament is aimed to identify and give opportunities to raw football talents from all over West Bengal. A press conference was held on Friday. Former Bengal coach Ranjan Bhattacharya and former Bengal footballers Samaresh Chowdhury, Sumit Mukherjee, and Prasanta Banerjee graced the occasion.  
The former State players will select the raw talents. The young footballers will get the opportunity to showcase their skills and take a step to fulfil their future dreams.
