Premasis Bhattacharjee, the Society president, has pledged to cover Limba Ram’s medication expenses indefinitely.
In a heartfelt gesture, Krishnagar Natun Kalipur Cultural and Welfare Society from Nadia, West Bengal, has extended financial support to India's legendary archer Limba Ram.The president of the orgnisation, Premasis Bhattacharjee, at a media conference at the Press Club of India New Delhi on Wednesday, announced that the Society will support him by covering all his medication expenses as long as necessary.
Parallel Sports first brought the news into light that Padmashri Awardee legendary archer, the former national coach also has been battling against a rare neurodegenerative disease for the past four years. Parallel Sports also unveiled that Limba Ram has been struggling against financial crisis for last couple of years.
So, it was Partha Acharya, the Director of Parallel Sports Pvt. Ltd who took the initiative by convincing and requesting the president, Premasis Bhattacharjee to come forward with financial support for the ailing archer. Parallel Sports also feel proud to have made some contribution to Limba Ram's constant fight for the recovery.
Limba Ram's wife Jennie, commenting on the issue said, “We are grateful to Krishnagar Natun Kalipur Cultural and Welfare Society and Parallel Sports for the support.”
Premasis Bhattacharjee, the Society president, has pledged to cover Limba Ram’s medication expenses indefinitely. “Shri Limba Ram made Indian archery famous globally in 1992 after an eye-caatching performance in Barcelona Olympics. Today, as he battles in the hospital, our Society will support him by covering all his medication expenses as long as necessary. This is the least we can do for a national hero,” Bhattacharjee stated.
Limba Ram expressed his gratitude and commented “I am thankful to Bhattacharjee and the Krishnagar Natun Kalipur Cultural and Welfare Society for their generosity and support. Sportspersons give their best to the country, and in the twilight years, it is comforting to receive such support from fellow countrymen.”
The initiative taken by the Krishnagar Natun Kalipur Cultural and Welfare Society highlights the enduring legacy of the country’s sports. As Limba Ram continues his battle, the respective organisation stands with him, inspired by the values of perseverance and solidarity.

Thanks to good hearted people like Premasish Bhattacharya, President of the Society, for setting again a humanely gesture by ensuring Padmasree Limba Ram ji's treatment. Unwanted though for my comments on this, but I would like to plead BOTH Central and State Government, if Sportspersons at National & International level can be provided Life Long Medical Insurance with Spouse, the Sportspersons shall be boosted to further enhance their performance at the highest level. Just a request to kindly consider the proposal 🙏
