On the occasion of celebrating 75 years of cricket friendship between India and Australia, the scene before the very important match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Ahmedabad was really different. The fourth and final Test between India and Australia kicked off in the presence of India's honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese.
The two heads of state visited the iconic Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in a car. Prime Minister Modi handed over the cap to Indian captain Rohit Sharma. The Prime Minister handed over the 'cap' to Australian captain Steve Smith.
Then Modi and the Albanians joined hands with them. Prime Minister Modi stands next to Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma at the Ahmedabad ground singing 'Jan Gana Man'. Likewise, with the Smiths, Australia's national anthem is Albanese. After that, the Prime Ministers of India and Australia watched the fourth Test sitting on the ground in Ahmedabad. This was the picture of the stadium half an hour before the crucial India-Australia Border-Gavaskar Trophy match.
India leads the series 2-1 but needs to win the final Test to not only win the series but also qualify for the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final. Australia has already qualified following their Indore Test victory.
