For the first time, the late Diego Armando Maradona is coming up on stage in a theatre! The Argentine legend has been glorified in different ways. Even, the society outside the world of football has contributed a lot to sketching his 'larger than life' portrait across the world. 

Now, a European theatre company TAC TEATRO, based in Milan, Italy, and Paris is all set to stage a theatre in remembrance of the Argentine legend and the show is scheduled to be staged at Stade André Karman – Aubervilliers, one of the popular stadiums in Paris on Friday, 31st May in front of thousands of spectators, especially the football and sports lovers who already have started creating buzz over the upcoming Olympics in Paris. 

Ornella Bonventre, director of the drama, divulged while speaking from Paris over the phone, "The key reason behind choosing Maradona was his amazing life that consisted of ups and downs, transcending to the highest level of the game after sheer struggle and the battle to defy all odds and finally, his ability to inscribe his 'larger than life' image. He was not only a legendary footballer but an amazing human being.”

She continued, “But despite the contrast of in his activities throughout the life our drama will present an inspiring story, a positive message on his rise from impoverished childhood, his naive and uncomplicated attitude, and benevolence.”

The Argentine legend will appear on the stage through one of the sons never recognized by the late Maradona. Ornella revealed, “He is his seventh son, never recognized by Diego. We went through an intense research for the last couple of years and found him finally in Napoli. His son will start narrating the story of Diego and a giant puppet with a football will be seen playing on the stage.”

She added, "His mother will also be on the stage and the spectators will also hear the voice of late Diego Maradona as we will bring his voice using Artificial Intelligence (AI). It will be around a one-and-half hour show. The name of the show is Maradona, la main de Dieu.” 

TAC TEATRO introduced itself in Milan in 2012 before opening its other school in Paris in 2017. The company not only conducts physical theatre but also trains people in acting. Direction and different other aspects of the drama and according to Ornila they have students starting from six years old to 60 years. They have 120 students in their two schools already. 

Ornella disclosed she is aware of the craze on Maradona in India and she would love to come to the country with this drama. “If I get the opportunity I must go to India with the show, a tribute to the legend from us."
