A new kid on the block in Indian football, draws the attention of a top Spanish team scouts

Shashwat however showed promise at an early age when he was representing Bhaichung Bhutia Football Academy (BBFA) in the Subrata Cup championship, scoring goals regularly.

He is Shashwat Panwar from Dehradun. The 16-year-old boy from Amenity Public School as well as Amenity Football Academy Rudrapur, Uttarakhand has already drawn the attention of the Indian football fraternity by being one of the top scorers in the under-17 Indian boys' exposure matches in Spain and Germany, scoring nine goals.

There is no doubt that Bibiano Fernandez, the chief coach of the under-17 Indian boys will rely on Shashwat along with other footballers in the team before their all-important campaign starting in the Under-17 AFC Cup in Thailand from 17th June.

But significantly, it is learned that the scouts of a premier Spanish team have shown already interest in Shashwat looking forward to his future. Shashwat's father Dhirendra Panwar revealed while speaking to Parallel Sports, "The scouts of a Spanish team showed interest in Shawat following his impressive performance in the exposure matches Indian boys participated in. It might be that the scouts are willing to take Shashwat to the club's academy for training. But his coach Bibiano sir will take the final decision regarding the matter."

Shashwat's mother is now a happy person. She is a school teacher and is often opposed to Shashwat's passion for football. Dhirendra remembered, "I used to encourage Shashwat to play football since his childhood. I bought a small football for him. His mother had strong objections. She used to say that my instigation is spoiling our son, dissociating him from the study."

Shashwat however showed promise at an early age when he was representing Bhaichung Bhutia Football Academy (BBFA) in the Subrata Cup championship, scoring goals regularly. Then Shashwat joined Amenity Public School and started intensive training at the school's football academy before advancing to Corbett FC. Shashwat was spotted by the AIFF scouts led by Harjinder Singh for the under-17 Indian boys.
