At the senior level, they have a unique record of 8-0 win in the derby clash in recent times. On Thursday at Naihati Stadium, under-21 East Bengal finally salvaged some pride for the jersey, forcing arch-rivals Mohun Bagan to get content with a goalless draw in the ongoing Reliance Youth Football League. 

Like Vishal Kaith, the custodian who played a major role in guiding Mohun Bagan to their first ISL victory this season, it was Aditya Patra, the red-and-gold custodian played a crucial role in rescuing his team from conceding goals on the day by the superb show. 

Mohun Bagan however fielded a stronger side by fielding Kiyan Nasiri, and Sumit Rathi, who played in the recently-concluded ISL. They created chances also. Even though they earned a spot-kick but Aditya made an outstanding save off Lalrinliana Hnamte. Aditya's save off Hnamte's shot was again punched by Suhail Bhat. But that was also thwarted by Aditya.

The custodian stated after the match, "I took the resolution before the match that I would not concede easy goals today. I would deliver my best and I did that. I am happy that we have not been defeated finally."
