Rahamanullah Gurbaz on his arrival at Kolkata with the KKR team has fallen in love with ‘Rasogolla’. The passion for the traditional and famous sweets of this city has been exposed in the team's official Twitter and Facebook accounts. A video has revealed that curious Gurbaz with a dish of sweet being encouraged from behind to taste “Rasgulla”.

The Afghan cricketer was associated with the Gujrat Titan team last year. KKR coach Chandrakant Pandit selected him after a close observation as the team needed a wicketkeeper-batter. Gurbaz is the first cricketer in the history of Afghan cricket to score a century in a one-day match. 

He has experience playing in Pakistan, Sri Lanka, the Caribbean, and Abu Dhabi leagues. After a long gap of three years since COVID-19 Eden Gardens is back with cricket with the match between KKR and RCB. 

KKR has lost their rain-interrupted first match against Punjab Kings at Mohali. The team however seems excited before their second outing. 

In such an environment Gurbaz is facing some criticism also. “I extend my advance sympathy for the team. Enjoy the food and lose” says a netizen.

Another remarked, “I don’t think that this team can perform. They are all busy with entertainment”.

Despite these remarks, few have enjoyed the situation also. “ That which is filled with tasty juice at every corner is called Rasogolla,” remarked a viewer.

Gurbaz is also excited about the Kolkata franchise. After his association with the KKR team, the Afghan star in an interview told “ I am very excited after being associated with the KKR family and look forward to producing my best for the team”
