Afghanistan scripted another historic win in their storied cricket career. Their A-team stunned hot-favourites India-A in the second semi-final of the T20 Emerging Asia Cup 2024 by handing them a 20-run defeat.
With the win, Afghanistan-A will now play against Sri Lanka A in the final at the same venue on Sunday, October 27. The cricket fans will witness the new kings of Asia in the emerging cup format, as the previous winners were Pakistan A, who defeated India A in the final last year (ODI format).
It was a complete power-packed performance from Aghanistan A, as they were excellent on all fronts against an India A side that looked completely out-of-sorts and now, bow out of the competition without even making it into the final.
Afghanistan-A innings ended in 206 for 4. Rasikh Salam was the only Indian bowler with an impressive show with the ball, scalping 3 wickets at the cost of 25 runs., and gave away merely 25 runs in his four overs.
