AIFF is in a process also of introducing a women's football academy under TDS program

Satyanarayan who had played a major role in developing women’s football in his state Karnataka sounded optimistic when asked about the program.

Like the Fifa-AIFF boys academy under the Talent Development Scheme (TDS) at Bhubaneswar, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) is also in the process of introducing a residential football school exclusively for India's women's football.

The Federation secretary Satyanarayan M along with the Federation president Kalytan Chaubey had reportedly discussion with Arsene Wenger during his recent visit to India regarding the introduction of a centrally-located academy exclusively for women's football.

Satyanarayan who had played a major role in developing women’s football in his state Karnataka sounded optimistic when asked about the program. He said, “Under the Khelo India scheme three football leagues, under-13, under-15, and under-17 are going to start from next week. Under-13 will be played seven-a-side while under-15 will be staged with nine-a-side and under-17 league will be staged with eleven side-teams. Around 25 states will organize these 90 leagues where one team will get the opportunity to take part in 10 matches. Through these leagues, more potential girls are expected to come up.”

He added, “Our women's national team is ranked 61st in the Fifa’s women's ranking list. If the women's team can be nurtured properly then they have a chance of participating in the tournament like the Women's World Cup or Olympics.”

It is also learned that Arsene Wenger is also keen to help the AIFF in developing women's football in India and under the Talent Development Scheme (TDS) a similar academy for the country's women's football can be seen in the near future.
