The maximum (two) possible Olympic quota places in this event for India is already claimed by Kusale and Sheoran
The 22-year-old Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar clinched gold in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions individual event at the Asian Shooting Championship in Changwon, Korea on Wednesday. He also helped India grab a team silver at the same event.
Tomar shot 463.5 in the final to win the yellow medal. Meanwhile, China's Tian Jiaming swiped the silver with a score of 462.7. Du Linshu, also from China picked up the bronze with 450.3. Tomar had occupied the fifth position in the qualification round with 591.
The Indian squad consisting Tomar, Swapnil Kusale and Akhil Sheoran won the team silver with a total score of 1764. They finished behind China who made 1777.
The maximum (two) possible Paris Olympic quota places in this particular event for India is already claimed by Kusale and Sheoran.
Kusale had won the quota during the World Championships in Cairo last year. While, Sheoran did the same in this year's World Championships in Baku.
