Aman CK, one of the promising attacking midfielders of East Bengal's youth brigade was under threat. Coach Vinu George brought him from Kerala before the Reliance Foundation Youth Development League. The coach cautioned him of dropping from the first eleven after the team's previous match if the midfielder could not regain his form. 

Aman proved his grit on Thursday, scoring twice to help East Bengal humiliate Eastern Railway 5-1 in their CFL Premier Division match at home. Avishek Kunjam, Guite Vanlalpekha, and Razibul Mistry scored the remaining three goals for the winner. 

Dibyendu Chanda reduced the margin for the Railway. Aman who was chosen man-of-the-match said after the match, "My existence in the first eleven was at stake. So, today's match was very crucial for me. I am happy that I have proved my mettle. I am dedicating the award to my mother and all the fans who were cheering for me from the stands."

However, Eastern Railway's coach Prashanta Chakrabarty resigned from coach's post following the humiliating defeat on the day. 

Among the other CFL Premier Division matches Bhawanipore drubbed Wari AC 3-1. Sabeeth Satyan, Subhash Singh, and Arijit Bagui scored for the winners while Aftab Hossain scored for Wari. Calcutta Customs defeated BSS by a brace. Both goals were scored by Sujoy Shome.
