Real Madrid is aiming to be European Champion for the 15th time.
Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, ahead of the Champions League semi-finals on Tuesday, reveals that Manchester City is unstoppable. Asked how he is planning to stop Haaland, the Real boss said, "Obviously Haaland is a dangerous player and has been showing amazing quality especially when scoring. But to talk only about Haaland is not to talk about the whole team which is playing football very well and is good in defence and attack."
Real Madrid is aiming to be European Champion for the 15th time. They defeated Manchester City in the semi-finals last season on their way to lifting the trophy. City has also won 15 out of their last 16 games and is ready to take revenge for the last year's defeat. However, Ancelotti feels that Pep Guardiola's team is much stronger than the previous year.
"We are not thinking of stopping Haaland only. The whole team seems to be unstoppable. But we believe we have options to play equal exchange and win the game" said Real manager Ancelotti. He further added that City takes advantage of log balls as they have a quite tall forward with Kevin De Bruyne coming from behind. Ancelotti further said, "The defensive aspect is quite relevant and we are not focusing on one player because that would mean forgetting about other players who are important and dangerous as well." He added that it is obvious when a team plays in a semi-final they will face a tuff opponent in a competition like this.
Ancelotti confirmed that Luka Modric has returned to the team recovering from his injury and will be available in the semi-finals. On being asked if Manchester City will be trying to take revenge for the previous defeat where they lost in the extra time last year, Real midfielder Tony Kroos said, "I do not know if they can be more motivated than the last year." He further said, "Obviously they have the goal of winning the Champions League. Most of their players have never done that so it is typical that their players will be more motivated." He added, "We felt it last year. They had two satisfactory games. Maybe they missed the chance to score more and come to Madrid but even here they scored the first goal and were very close." He also said that he expects the same motivation from them and they will also be motivated Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, ahead of the Champions League semi-finals on Tuesday, reveals that Manchester City is unstoppable.
