Ankolika’s brilliance guides Bengal to clinch girls’ title in School Games TT

The Naihati girl also maintained consistency, winning the singles' crown in the competition.

Presently the world's second-ranked paddler in the under-13 category after Chinese Taipei's Li Jen-Yueh (last updated on 16th January 2024), Ankolika Chakrabarty’s impressive show guided Bengal under-14 girls’ team to clinch the girls’ title in the 67th National School Games table tennis championship held from 10th to 13th January at Indore. 

Ankolika was unbeaten in the team events where Bengal progressed toward the final with a thumping 3-0 victory against Andhra Pradesh in the pre-quarterfinal, a 3-0 triumph against Uttar Pradesh in the quarterfinal, also 3-0 win against Tamil Nadu in the semi-final and a thrilling 3-2 victory in the final against Karnataka. 

The Naihati girl also maintained consistency, winning the singles' crown with convincing victories against S. H Bhubanidha ((Tamilnadu) by 3-1in the quarterfinal, also by 3-1 in the semi-final against Naisha Rewaskar (Maharastra) and trounced Tanmoyee Saha (Hariyana) by 3-1 in the final.
