Ankur to play in Czechoslovakia League

Renowned Chinese table tennis equipment manufacturer DHS has signed a one-year contract with Bhattacharjee.

He was highly keen to take part in the tournaments in the men's category. He already has experience of defeating the country's top men's paddler like Sathiyan.

Despite being 18 years he proved his mettle in the men’s category by reaching in quarter-final and semi-final, respectively in two consecutive senior national championships.

Before entering only the men’s world in Indian table tennis next year, the country’s number one Youth paddler Ankur Bhattacharjee is flying to Prague, Czechoslovakia on the coming 10th of April to take part in the country Table Tennis League (Tier-2) to increase experience, playing only against some top European paddlers.

When asked Ankur revealed, “I will be representing a top club named Czech Liga Pro that takes in second tier Czech League. I will be playing matches in the League till the 26th of this month. The key reason behind the decision is that I will be getting the opportunity to play against some top men European paddlers. This year is my last to participate in the youth (under-19) category. So, before taking on India's all top men paddlers playing against the men in the Czech League is expected to help me a lot."

However, renowned Chinese table tennis equipment manufacturer DHS has signed a one-year contract with Bhattacharjee. DHS has tie-ups with the world's legendary paddlers including Ma Long and Ankur is the second Indian paddler after Swastika Ghosh to have received an offer and signed contract by this famous company.

The company chose Bhattacharjee as one of its clients after Ankur defeated the world’s fourth-ranked Korean paddler Oh Junsung in the recently-concluded WTT Star Contender in Singapore.
