However Bengal is still yet to come out of danger as they are 169 for the loss of four wickets at stumps, trailing Saurashtra by 61 runs. Manoj who had decided to say good bye after playing this Ranji Trophy but is in dilemma on sticking to his decision after requests from his well-wishers and teammates faced 129 deliveries, executing only nine fours to dish out a calm and compact innings. Bengal however collapsed to Saurashtra’s accurate bowling in the morning on the day and lost three quick wickets. But Anushtup Majumder and Manoj offered storing resistance, exhibiting courageous half-centuries to set-up a 99-run partnership before Anushtup returned to pavilion while trying to sneak through the slips away from body. Jaydev Unadkat who along with Chetan Sakariya and Preerak Mankad bowled with such a precise line, length and variation that Bengal’s first three batsmen including Sudip Gharami looked struggling althrough.
