Anwar Ali-dispute takes a new twist after Delhi FC raises questions on the legitimacy of the AIFF committees

Delhi FC in its Writ petition has mentioned that every judicial committee of AIFF (Appeals/ Disciplinary/ Player Status/ Ethics) has been illegally constituted.

The Writ-petition filed by Delhi FC at the Delhi High Court on Monday has taken a new twist before the pre-scheduled hearing on East Bengal footballer Anwar Ali.

Delhi FC in its Writ petition has mentioned that every judicial committee of AIFF (Appeals/ Disciplinary/ Player Status/ Ethics) has been illegally constituted.

Now, the scheduled hearing on Anwar is likely to be open on 8th November.

The renowned lawyer Rahul Mehra, appearing for Delhi FC before the Delhi High Court when asked about the issues explained while speaking over the phone, "According to the AIFF constitution these respective committees should be constituted by the executive committee. But the committees, especially the Players Status Committee (PSC) were formed by one single person, the former secretary-general and the present Secretary-General has also admitted that the committee was made without the consent of executive committee members, even without the knowledge of the AIFF vice-president and the president. Even it was in minutes that all these committees should be reconstituted. Naturally, PSC is an illegally constituted committee."

However, Anil Kumar, the AIFF's present Secretary General, denied the aspect and revealed while speaking over the phone, "All our committees are valid. The court has also agreed also. As far we are concerned the committees are valid and action will be also taken from their end.”

Anil Kumar also divulged that the scheduled hearing on Wednesday Anwar Ali is on till now.
