Archana Wants to Serve Country as a Public Servant

The 24-year-old table tennis player wants to come back to India in 2 years and serve the nation to the best of her ability. Kamath is confident that she wants to pursue a career as a public servant and serve the nation to the best of her ability.

The young Table Tennis player Archana Kamath won’t be seen adorning India’s jersey anymore. However, her dedication and commitment to serving the country remains unwavering. Kamath has chosen a “different way” to serve the nation, being an economist. 

"I really admire Sanjeev Sanyal's work. His wide range of work inspires me” stated Kamath confirming her love for economics.

After winning in the quarterfinals, the team lost to Germany in the Olympics 2024. The Olympian has already returned to the USA, to continue her studies at the University of Michigan. Archana is engaging in her second Master's, in Public Policy. She did her Bachelor's degree in Economics. 

While talking to PTI from Michigan she informed me about her decision about taking leave from the sport after the Olympics. 

“Now that the Olympics are done, I want to study more and come back to India after two years and serve the people in a different capacity.” She affirmed to PTI.

"I have always been interested in policy making. The main goal is to serve India. I just want to see how I go about my course. The eventual goal is to come back and serve India.”
