Archers strike gold as India record best-ever tally

The duo of Jyothi and Ojas defeated Korea's So Chaewon and Joo Jaehoon 159-158 in the gold medal match.

Archers Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Ojas Deotale won India's 16th gold medal of the ongoing Asian Games as the pair defeated South Korea in the compound mixed team event. The duo of Jyothi and Ojas defeated Korea's So Chaewon and Joo Jaehoon 159-158 in the gold medal match. This was India's 71st medal at the Hangzhou games, their best-ever at Asian Games. Earlier, India won bronze medal in 35km race walk mixed team event. 

World Champion Neeraj Chopra will be defending his men's javelin throw gold medal and Lovlina Borgohain will compete in the women's 75kg boxing category final against China's Li Qian on Wednesday.
