ATK Mohun Bagan defeated Hyderabad FC 3 – 1 in a penalty shootout and secured a spot in the AFC Cup 2023-24 first round. The two teams were deadlocked at 1 – 1 at the end of the extra time. For the Mariners’ Dimitri Petratos scored in the 20th minute. Chianese equalized for Hyderabad after they ended with some unsuccessful attacks. 
ATK, also, won against Hyderabad in the ISL and qualified in the final.  ATK coach Juan Ferrando is not happy with his boy’s performances. He said to the media, “The match became tuff due to our fault. But now it is time to take a rest and send a beautiful vacation. I hope we will return in good form. AFC Cup is a tuff competition and we will try to gain some experience in that.” ATK Mohun Bagan has qualified in the AFC Cup for the third time in a row.
