Australia bowled out for 199 in ICC ODI World Cup

Ravindra Jadeja broke the backbone of Australia as he took three wickets in quick succession

India and Australia met in the fifth match of the 2023 Cricket World Cup at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Tamil Nadu on Sunday.

Australia won the toss and decided to bat. They acquired 199 runs before getting bowled out by the combined effort of the Indian bowlers mainly Bumrah, Jadeja, Ashwin and Kuldeep.

The bowlers were absolutely on fire and all of them found themselves among wickets. Kuldeep Yadav dismissed the big wicket of Glenn Maxwell. Ashwin snatched Cameron Green's wicket which is his first World Cup wicket in 8 years.

The hero of the day, Ravindra Jadeja dismissed Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne and Alex Carey in just two overs and collapsed the backbone of Australia as they had no more batting left.

Kuldeep Yadav also removed David Warner and stopped his 69 run stand. Hardik Pandya and Mohammad Siraj took the wickets of Adam Zampa and Mitchell Starc respectively.

Notably it all started with Jaspreet Bumrah who removed Mitch Marsh with an exceptional delivery of the ball as Kohli took a spectacular catch.
