Bagan’s bombardment continues, wants to leave IFA

Statues of historic IFA Shield winning members of 1911 are going to be installed in the club premises.

Clearing doubts about why they did not play the Derby match, Debasish Dutta said, “Our statement was very clear, that we have a match in ISL on the 2nd December and 7 players of the junior team are already injured. Simultaneously, 10 players from the CFL side including the likes of Suhail Bhat, Kiyan Nassiri and Sumit Rathi have all joined the senior team. So we sent a written request to IFA to complete the league matches within the 24th November.” Dutta also alleged against IFA of favouritism for East Bengal, citing example of East Bengal’s participation in the Independent Cup which according to Bagan secretary was illegal. But IFA secretary Anirban Dutta denied all these allegations.

However, in a media interaction on Friday at the club premises, Bagan secretary who hinted that the club and the company (MBSG), both want to leave association with the state football’s ruling body, informed that the club will build up a hockey team next year and also develop the cricket infrastructure more.

He also disclosed that statues of historic IFA Shield winning members of 1911 are going to be installed in the club premises in the middle of this month.
