Bangladesh is at risk of losing 10 crucial World Test Championship (WTC) points for the significantly slow over rate. During the test match against India, Bangladesh fell 10 overs short of their 90-over target, on Thursday.
As per the ICC World Test Championship playing conditions, article 16.11.2 stated that -
“A team will have one (1) World Test Championship competition point deducted from its points total for each Penalty Over it incurs during the Round Stage."
This is not the first time for Bangladesh, in the previous match, 3 points were deducted in the first test against Pakistan as they fell 3 overs short.
