Barcelona score 55 goals in 16 matches in Champions League after 75 years

Íñigo Martínez gave Barcelona the ideal start, scoring the opening goal while Robert Lewandowski netted a brace.

Hansi Flick’s Barcelona scripted yet another history. The delighted man while talking to the reporters stated, “Three points, that’s the most important thing. It’s not easy to win away from home in this competition. I’m very happy, and I really appreciate what the team is doing. We played very well with the ball, and we also pressed hard in defence.”

“Red Star played very well. They know how to play with the ball, and it is difficult to defend against them. It is not easy to concentrate for ninety minutes, and I value that a lot.”

While stunning Crvena Zvezda with a 5-2 thrill, Barcelona has set a historic milestone by scoring 55 goals in their first 16 games of the season, surpassing the previous record of Ferdinand Daucik's team, which had stood for nearly 75 years, in the Champions League.

Íñigo Martínez gave Barcelona the ideal start, scoring the opening goal while Robert Lewandowski netted a brace. Raphinha and Fermin López also joined the scoresheet, further solidifying the team’s dominant performance.

The ecstatic Braca will be aiming for another high-scoring performance on Sunday as Barcelona travel to Anoeta to face Real Sociedad in La Liga.
