BCCI Central Contracts for men might be settled on 30th March, support staff likely to be reduced

According to reports from Dainik Jagaran, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia is scheduled to hold discussions with chief selector Ajit Agarkar and head coach Gautam Gambhir regarding the issue on Sunday.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to decide on the central contracts on Sunday. According to reports from Dainik Jagaran, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia is scheduled to hold discussions with chief selector Ajit Agarkar and head coach Gautam Gambhir on Sunday on the sidelines of the CSK Vs RR tie in IPL 2025.

The announcement of the central contracts, which usually happens before the IPL, has been delayed this time. Earlier, reports had claimed that the BCCI was waiting for the Champions Trophy to conclude in order to decide on the contracts.

The delay in the announcement was because India’s head coach Gambhir was not available for discussions. However, the report claims that that a top BCCI decision-maker’s right-hand has already enquired about the contracts via telephonic conversations with the team management and chief selector.

Further, the report states that the board and the team management are not on the same page over deciding on the contracts yet. The meeting on 30th March is expected to break the deadlock.
