Mukesh was the highest wicket-taker, taking 11 scalps at 16.18 in his two unofficial Tests for India-A against Australia-A.
According to reports published by the Times of India, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released three Indian pacers from the Indian squad who travelled with the team as reserves for the ongoing BGT series. They are Mukesh Kumar, Yash Dayal, and Navdeep Saini. These three pacers are set to fly to India to participate in the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT).
The reason behind BCCI's decision to bring them back to India is that BCCI wants them to take part in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for their match-practice. Notably, Yash Dayal is known to be already in his hometown to prepare for India's premier domestic 50-over tournament.
Mohammed Shami, who was touted to be included in BGT, will also take part in the Vjay Hazare Trophy for Bengal, diminishing his chances to feature in Australia.
All three of Mukesh, Dayal, and Saini have been part of the BGT right from the start. Mukesh played both the unofficial Test for India-A against Australia-A and bowled well also. The right-arm pacer was the highest wicket-taker, taking 11 scalps at 16.18. Meanwhile, Saini only played the first practice game. As for Yash Dayal, he was drafted to replace Khaleel Ahmed.
