Bengal cricketer Suvojit Banerjee dies of cardiac arrest

He scored 106 runs in his three First Class matches while he garnered 93, playing four List-A matches. He was captain of East Bengal for two years.

Bengal cricketer Suvojit Banerjee dies of cardiac arrest at his home in Sonarpur on Monday. He was only 39 years only. Suvojit, nicknamed ‘Ghora' represented senior Bengal in three matches. 

He made his debut in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2014 under the leadership of Lakshmi Ratan Shukla. Bengal won against Odisha in the match where Suvojit scored 33. In the same year, he had a splendid knock of 44 against Baroda in the Ranji Trophy match, facing bowlers like Munaf Patel and Yusuf Pathan. 

He scored 106 runs in his three First Class matches while he garnered 93, playing four List-A matches. He was captain of East Bengal for two years.

Suvojit played for Manohorpukur Milan Samity in the CAB League last season.

Suvojit Banerjee is my neighbour whom I know from his childhood. It is very shocking news.
