Rimpa Halder, Moushumi Murmu and Devneta Roy were the goal scores for the Bengal team
The West Bengal women's team beat Jharkhand 3-2 and secured a berth in the semi finals in the National Games Women’s Football in Goa on Tuesday. The Bengal team also defeated Manipur in their previous match on October 29.
Jharkhand took an early lead, but West Bengal found the equaliser and eventually both teams scored 2-2 at the end of the first half. Then in the second half with the winning goal Bengal clinched the victory for themselves.
Rimpa Halder, Moushumi Murmu and Devneta Roy were the goal scores for the Bengal team. Their coach, Dipankar Vishwas is extremely happy because of his team's win. He said that the weather is too warm in Goa in the morning and Jharkhand is considered the powerhouse of Indian women’s football. Despite these situations and losing their lead to Jharkhand the Bengal girls played their best to win, which proves the quality of Bengal's dedication to football.
According to Vishwas, irrespective of the opponent he is sure that his team will continue the winning streak. For the next semi final match on 3rd November, Friday, West Bengal will be looking forward to face Haryana or Odisha.
