Senior women's Bengal team started their campaign in the final rounds of the senior national football championship for the Rajmata Jijabai Trophy with a 2-0 victory against Bihar at Krishnanagar Stadium, Nadia on Saturday. 

Moushumi Murmur struck the winners for Bengal. Bengal coach Sujata Kar said, "Bihar also fought back, creating a couple of opportunities. The opening match is always tough for any team. From that point of view, I am happy to have observed the girls' effort." 

Bengal did not have the opportunity to conduct even a week's preparation for this competition due to the Puja festival. 

Bengal will be facing Jammu & Kashmir in their next match of Group-B on Monday. Karnataka is the team in the group.
