Bengal women stun Manipur 4-1 in their crucial group league match of the ongoing National Games at Haldiwani. Huidrom Ranjita Devi struck a double while Sumila Chanu and Rani Bhowmick scored for the winners. 

Coach Dola Mukherjee, happy with the performance divulged, “During our training sessions in Kolkata and here also, I guided the girls showing the style of Manipur’s football. During the match-sequence training the girls were informed how Manipur generally play. I am thankful to the girls for their excellent performance today. They earned control and possession of the game before Manipur could offer some resistance.”

Bengal has the concluding group league match against Delhi on Friday and winning the match the team will ensure a berth in the semi-final of the competition."
