Bengaluru FC to rope in Cuadrat’s former assistant as their chief coach

Zaragoza was the assistant of East Bengal's present Spanish manager Carlos Cuadrat

Bengaluru FC is going to rope in Spanish coach Gerard Zaragoza as the team’s chief coach. The team parted ways with their previous coach Symon Grayson following a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Mumbai City in the ISL on Friday.

Zaragoza was the assistant coach of East Bengal's present Spanish manager Carlos Cuadrat in 2018-19.

The 41-year-old Spanish coach whose playing career spanned for a brief period due to consistent injury, started working as the manager of the Catalonian under-14 national team in 2007. Primarily known as one of the most experienced coaches at the grass-route level, Zaragoza had worked as the chief coach of Spanish premier team Espanyol’s youth side as well as as the chief coach of Aspire Academy's youth team.

In the senior level, he started his coaching career as the manager of Shabab-Al-Ahil. This UEFA Pro-license coach was working with UAE premier team Khor Fakkan last season.
