Mohammedan Sporting secured a convincing 2-0 victory against Southern Samity in their CFL Premier Division match at Bibhutibhushan Stadium in Barackpore on Thursday. The team reached the third spot in the league table so far with 18 points from seven matches. 

Kalighat MS and Mohun Bagan are in the first and second spots with 21 and 19 points so far, respectively. David and Abhijit Sarkar scored for the winners. 

The other two CFL Premier Division matches scheduled on the day between Rainbow and Wari AC and Bhawanipore and Police AC were called abandoned due to torrential rain.
