Rohan Bopanna and Indonesia’s Aldila Sutjiadi stormed into the semi-final of the US Open mixed doubles. They defeated the pair of Matthew Ebden and Barbora Krejcikova 7-6 (7-4), 2-6, 10-7 in an hour and 33 minutes on Monday.

Down by 0-3 in the opening set, Bopanna and Sutjiadi bounced back and had the last laugh in the tie-breaker. Krejcikova and Ebden were not seen throwing in the towel or taking the match into the tie-breaker.

Bopanna and Sutjiadi also did not give up. In the third-set tie-breaker, they fired on all cylinders, taking a massive lead of 6-0.

Bopanna and Sutjiadi will next be up against the winner of the other semi-final between Harri Heliovaara and Anna Danilina & Taylor Townsend and Donald Young.
