Bottom-place United SC holds leaders Bengaluru United to a thrilling draw

Crespo Vanlalhriatpuia’s strike secured a 2-2 draw for Steve Herbots’ team in I-League 2.

United SC put up a brave show by sharing a point with Bengaluru United who had won three of their last four games. The Kolkata based side are still with only one victory but the point earned against the table-toppers will motivate them for the rest of the season. However, United remained in the relegation spot before making the trip to Mumbai to face Oranje FC.

FC Bengaluru United took the lead inside just 10 minutes of the game. Chesterpoul Lyngdoh scored his second goal in just four appearances for the home side before Yash Mharte doubled the advantage. However, United SC kept their nerves and pulled one back in the 35th minute through Sahil Harijan. Just four minutes after the half-time break, substitute Crespo got the all-important leveler. Both side pushed for a victory but ultimately settled for a point.
