Brandon trained at the famous Elvis Goes Football Academy in Lisbon for around two years during the lockdown period.
Brandon Countinho sometimes comes to his father and laments everybody wants him to become a footballer as his father was. Brandon seems to be facing his most important opposition, the psychological pressure of being a renowned father's son. Brandon Countinho is the son of former legendary Indian footballer Bruno Countinho.
The 21-year-old Brandon also plays as a striker like his father. He has joined Churchill Brothers. Although he has been recruited for the club’s reserve squad, their coach, former Salgaocar footballer Norbert Gonsalves observes Brandon is promising. He needs to play matches to gain maturity. So, Norbert has reportedly plans to put Brandon in the Goa Pro-League football this season.
Bruno, while speaking to Parallel Sports on Saturday revealed, “I have also heard Brandon is potential. He needs to play matches to gain maturity. I believe Brandon will click if he is being played in a couple of matches in the Pro-League. Sometimes I see him quite frustrated as he has to often listen during the training that he would have to become a footballer like his father. I feel these words affect his performance, and increase psychological pressure."
Bruno also divulged that Brandon trained at the famous Elvis Goes Football Academy in Lisbon for around two years during the lockdown period. "He gained advanced training there, improved skill, and developed his mental strength there. Still, the style of playing here is different from the style they are taught abroad," added Bruno.
Bruno wants to send his son abroad again so that he can return to India with more proficiency. Simultaneously, he constantly inspires his son trying to help him to get rid of the psychological pressure Brandon has been going through.
