Brij Bhusan has been accused of sexually assaulting and misbehaving.
After the intervention of the Supreme Court Delhi Police has filed two separate FIRs against WFI President Brij Bhusan Singh. The wrestlers in two separate complaints to Delhi Police have detailed the sexual harassment and inappropriate touching of the private parts of their body by WFI President Brij Bhusan Singh. The wrestlers are in a sit-in-protest against the WFI Chief at the Jantar Mantar from April. The protest is led by Olympic medallist Sakshi Malik, and Bajrang Puni among others.
Brij Bhusan has been accused of sexually assaulting and misbehaving with female wrestlers. One FIR has been registered under POSCO Act by two minors while the second one by five adults.
As per reports of Indian Express in the two separate FIRs around eight incidents of sexual harassment have been listed. The wrestlers have alleged that in the pretext of checking their breathing patterns, Brij Bhusan touched their private parts and stomach inappropriately.
One of the wrestlers, whose identity has not been disclosed, has provided details of five such incidents where the WFI chief has tried to take advantage. She said that the WFI chief tried to touch her private part and stomach after inviting her to a restaurant in 2016. He repeated the same thing in 2019 during a tournament. Singh was also accused of trying to grove her when the wrestler met him at the WFI office, in New Delhi.
