Indian women's badminton team defeated Mongolia 3-0 in the Asian Games 2023
The Indian women's badminton team advanced to the quarterfinals of the team championships on 28th September in Hangzhou. PV Sindhu, Ashmita Chaliha and Anupama Upadhyaya won their respective games.
Two-time Olympic medallist P V Sindhu displayed her impressive prowess in the proceedings with a 21-3 21-3 win over Myagmartseren Ganbaatar who is Mongolia's 775th ranked player, in the first singles.
Following Sindhu, women's singles South Asian Games champion, Ashmita Chaliha, continued India's dominance by defeating Kherlen Darkhanbaatar with identical scores.
18-year old talented, Anupama Upadhyaya, sealed India's triumph with an sizzling performance, winning 21-0 and 21-2 against Khulangoo Baatar resulting in a 3-0 win.
India will compete in a tough match against Thailand next. With the former world champion Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand, world no. 12 Pornpawee Chochuwong and world no. 17 Supanida Katethong it will not be a cakewalk.
