Bumrah achieves a feat; destroys Australia to bring India back into the fight

Jasprit Bumrah on Sunday became the joint second-fastest bowler from India to complete 200 wickets in Tests during the fourth day of the fourth Test against Australia in Melbourne.

India’s pace spearhead reached the milestone in his 44th Test, equalling Ravindra Jadeja’s record. Ravichandran Ashwin is the fastest to the haul at 37 innings.

Among Indian pacers, Bumrah is the fastest, with the next best belonging to Kapil Dev who claimed his 200th scalp in his 50th Test.

Across all teams, Pakistan’s Yasir Shah is the fastest to reach 200 wickets, getting to the mark in just 33 Tests.

Meanwhile, the 77 thousand spectators at MCG once again witnessed Jasprit Bumrah’s devastating bowling as the fast bowler tore apart Australia, scalping four important wickets at the cost of only 28 runs in the 12 overs he has bowled so far. Australia, leading by 198 runs are struggling with 93 for the loss of six wickets during the tea-session.
