Bunkerhill plans of official departure at the end of this month, a new investor may come within a couple of months

The Bunkerhill chairman is trying to rope in another investor for the club.

Bunkerhill Pvt. Ltd, the investor which was with Mohammedan Sporting for last for years, has planned to make its official departure from the black-and-white jersey on the 30th of this month. One of the key reasons is this Gurgaon-based sports management group is going to launch a football club from Haryana (Parallel Sports broke the news) and they have already submitted a bid. 

But at the same time, the club's top brass can get relief with the news that the chairman of Bunkerhill Pvt. Ltd, Deepak Singh who is also one of the members of the club's executive committee and also the club's representative in the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) is not taking away his hands from the club now. The chairman himself is trying to rope in an investor for the club. 

According to the latest situation the new investor, which might be another big sports management company, might join the century-old club provided the club executives agree with the terms and conditions set by the new investor. Speaking to Parallel Sports he explained, "Being with the cub for the last four years I cannot leave instantly. Yes, Bunkerhill has decided to depart. But I am trying to rope in a new investor for the club. If the club's top brass agrees to the terms and conditions set by the new investor then the deal might mature within the next couple of months." 

Deepak added claiming, "The club has to be selective in participating in tournaments this season, and especially they should not take risk by playing in any tournament before I-League. The coming League is going to be tougher than the last season as all participating teams have increased budgets. The club should think of preparing their senior team by playing some footballers from the reserve team that participated in the Under-21 Reliance Youth league."

Club secretary Istiaq Ahmed, commenting on the issue stated, "I had a telephonic discussion with Deepak Singh on Wednesday after our executive committee meeting. We have agreed with the terms and conditions he mentioned. He also said he is trying to rope in a new investor for the club."

Incidentally, Mohammedan Sporting officials are not sitting idle. The secretary divulged that the executive committee members (48) have decided to create a fund through individual donations and also decided to add financial strength by making new life members. The secretary added, "We have planned to create a commendable amount of funds through which we can sustain till the I-League next season. We already have started building up a quality team following advice from our head coach Mehrajuddin Wadoo and football secretary Dipendu Biswas. We need to be within the top two in the I-league this season."
