CCFC All India Invitational Cycle Polo Cup; Purpose is to popularize the game and increase students in the academy

The game is played between two teams of six players each team-four as active and two reserves.

Cycle Polo is a game similar to Horse Polo where bicycle is used instead of horses. It is played between two teams of six players each team-four as active and two reserves. 

Riding cycles, their aim becomes to drive the ball into the opponent's goal using a polo club. 

In association with the Cycle Federation of India and Cycle Association of Bengal Calcutta Cricket & Football Club (CC&FC) is going to organize the CCFC All India Invitational Cycle Polo Championship from the 18th to 21st of April at the CC&FC ground. 

The captain of the CC&FC cycle polo section Nilanjan Sen revealed, “In total 12 teams (eight men and four women) consisting of the leading teams like Air Force, Territorial Army, Chhatisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and other state teams will participate.” 

According to Sen, the Cycle Polo Association of Bengal has been running an academy in Ranaghat, Nadia district, and one of the key objectives of conducting this competition is to increase the number of potential youth players who could develop their game by scientifically learning the game at the academy. 

The cycle polo school has already more than 50 youth players and the number is gradually increasing.
