India captain Rohit Sharma is just 12 runs away from reaching a significant career milestone—completing 11,000 runs in One Day Internationals (ODIs). 

This landmark moment could arrive in India’s much-anticipated Champions Trophy opener against Bangladesh today, on 20th February 20. 

If Rohit achieves this feat, he will become only the 10th batter in cricket history and the fourth from India to surpass 11,000 ODI runs, joining the elite company of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, and Virat Kohli.

One of India's most prolific ODI batters, Rohit has played 260 innings so far. If he reaches the milestone in the match against Bangladesh, he will become the second-fastest player to do so, surpassing none other than Sachin Tendulkar, who took 276 innings to achieve the feat. Only his long-time teammate and batting stalwart Virat Kohli has reached the mark quicker, doing so in just 222 innings.

As they gear up to face Bangladesh at the Dubai International Stadium, Rohit has emphasized that India’s spin attack will be crucial to their game plan on the surface of the Dubai International Stadium. 

India’s formidable bowling attack, featuring the likes of Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, and Varun Chakravarthy, will play a key role in dictating terms against the Najmul Shanto-led Bangladesh side.
