Chasing 227, Bangalore fall short by just 8 runs as Chennai win at Chinnaswamy

Chennai Super Kings defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by eight runs in their Indian Premier League match on Monday.

Chennai Super Kings smashed 226/6 in the 20 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat first at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. The visiting tea lost Ruturaj Gaikwad early but Ajinkya Rahane got going in the power play. Conway assisted partly after Rahane fall to Hasaranga. Dube scored 52 off 27 balls while Conway contributed 83 off 45 balls. Raydu, Moeen Ali, and Jadeja all came in and smashed to help CSK pile up a big score.

While it looked like RCB may struggle Faf du Plessis and Maxwell’s third-wicket partnership put the run well within reach of the home team. The partnership produced 126 runs off 61 balls of which Maxwell’s contribution was 76 off 36 balls. The CSK bowlers kept RCB’s epic chase at bay as the home team fall short of 8 runs although Karthik made a last fight scoring 28 runs.
