Connor Shields scored the lone goal of the match
Chennaiyin FC beat Hyderabad FC by a single decisive goal in the final match of match week 4 of the Indian Super League on Monday, October 23, at the GMC Balayogi Stadium in Hyderabad.
CFC started well and looked to be in great shape. In six minutes into the game, Chennaiyin FC scored with a clean left footed shot from Connor Shields from a very close range to the centre of the goal. He was assisted by Ankit Mukherjee with a cross followed by a fast break.
Hyderabad then tried to fight back and were desperate to find an equaliser. HFC adopted their offensive and continually attacked the opponents goal. However, they were unable to find the back of the net in front of Chennaiyin's solid defense.
Hyderabad dominated the proceedings in the second half and kept the ball to themselves. Great counterattack football took place from both the sides. There were a few close calls for both teams however the attempts did not bore fruit and hence the second half remained goalless sealing Chennaiyin's first win of the campaign.
