Chennaiyin FC have secured the services of defender PC Laldinpuia for the upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) season. The 27-year-old Mizo player joins the Marina Machans after a successful stint with Jamshedpur FC.

Laldinpuia made his ISL debut under Chennaiyin's current head coach, Owen Coyle, in 2022 while playing for Jamshedpur.  He was a key contributor to the team's ISL League Shield victory that same year.  Returning to work with his former manager, Laldinpuia is expected to be a crucial addition to Chennaiyin's backline.

"We have acquired an incredible center-back coming off a great season," said Coyle.  "Having worked with him previously, I'm confident he will integrate well with the squad."  Laldinpuia's familiarity with Coyle's tactics is a significant advantage, and he expressed his enthusiasm about the reunion.

"I was very excited when they approached me," Laldinpuia told the club.  "It's a big team with a good coach, and I'm familiar with his system."  The defender has accumulated 35 ISL appearances in the last three seasons, with 37 interceptions and 15 blocks during his standout performance for Jamshedpur last year.  Laldinpuia's experience and defensive prowess are expected to solidify Chennaiyin's backline for the upcoming ISL season. 

On the other side, Mohun Bagan Super Giant confirmed today that midfielder Abhishek Suryavanshi will continue with the club for the upcoming season. The 23-year-old impressed after making his ISL debut this season and also earned a call-up to the India U23 national team.
