The 57-year-old coach has revealed that the key reason is that he has not received last three month’s salary.
Mohammedan Sporting’s Russian coach Andrey Chernyshov resigned from the coach's chair on Wednesday morning. He has informed the footballers during training sessions on the day. The coach has also revealed the news on his Twitter (X-handle) account.
The 57-year-old coach has revealed that the key reason is that he has not received last three month’s salary. The club's investor Bunkerhill has admitted the coach's resignation mail and informed that the company has not yet accepted the resignation mail and would likely have a discussion with the coach on the day regarding the issue.
The club's top brass however has blamed investors for being responsible for the coach's resignation. Vice-president Qamaruddin has commented, "The coach wanted to resign two weeks ago. He even sent emails to Fifa along with Shrachi Sports and Bunkerhil. The investor should take responsibility for this.”
Chernyshov joined Mohammedan Sporting following the initiative from Bunkerhil. But the Black-and-White brigade, under his tutelage is struggling in the ongoing ISL with 11 points in 17 matches so far.
The Russian’s resignation further complicates matters for the club, which has been plunged into a severe financial crisis this season.
Last week, two of Mohammedan Sporting’s investors, BunkerHill Pvt. Ltd. and Shrachi Sports, raised concerns about not receiving the requisite shares from the club.
Moreover, several players have not received their salaries, with many boycotting training sessions mid-season.
