Chernyshov worries about performance; MSC’s Losing Streak Continues

The match left Mohammedan Sporting Club (MSC) at 12th position in the ISL table, while Jamshedpur FC climbed to 7th, solidifying their spot in the upper half of the standings.

The much-anticipated clash between Mohammedan Sporting Club and Jamshedpur FC concluded with a thrilling 3-1 victory for Jamshedpur on Monday.

After the defeat, MSC coach Andrei Chernyshov reflected on the team's performance, emphasising the need for a more aggressive approach. He remarked, “We need to play more aggressive football, we need to play attack. There were many opportunities, but we couldn't score. In football you need to have quality and feel enlightened; however, we couldn't do that today. We had so many chances to score, but we did not score, and then we received goals.”

Chernyshov also expressed concern over individual performances, saying, “I don't worry about the result but rather the players. As we expected some poignant performances from a few, they did not meet expectations.”

The first half remained goalless, with both teams displaying solid defense. However, the second half erupted with action as Jamshedpur’s Muhammad Sanan Kalathil opened the scoring in the 53rd minute, followed by Javier Siverio's clinical finish in the 61st minute. Stephen Eze sealed the win with a powerful strike in the 79th minute.

Mohammedan Sporting’s Muhammed Irshad salvaged some pride with a late goal in the 88th minute, but it was too little, too late. The match delivered a spectacle, leaving fans at the edge of their seats.
