Delhi FC won the Climate Cup while the Tibetan National team became the runner-up.
Within one-and-half years after sitting on the secretary's chair, Tsering Angmo seems happy with an impressive boost in football activities across the Union Territory even though football received a blow in April this year.
Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) imposed a temporary ban on playing the game at Kargil stadium after a 13-year-old boy, Baqir died in the explosion of an unexploded landmine in a village of Kargil.
In its aftermath, the Ladakh Football Association (LFA) failed to conduct the state football league which includes teams from Kargil and none of the teams could earn qualification to participate in the second division I-League. Angmo revealed that the state league will be held soon as the stadium sanitization has been over recently.
But despite the obstacles, football activities across the Union Territory have increased a lot, especially after the successful completion of the first-ever competitive football tournament on the 11 thousand Fit, Climate Cup in Spituk, Leh in the first week of September. Delhi FC won the Climate Cup while the Tibetan National team became the runner-up.

Angmo speaking to Parallel Sports over the phone said, "I am mostly happy with the fact that LFA has been able to send four age-group teams to the national championships already starting from the under-13 national championship to the senior national championship, Santosh Trophy. Now we are on the way to building up a women's team that will take part in the forthcoming women's national championship, scheduled to be held in Amritsar.
She added, "I am not concerned about their result. Rather I feel it is an achievement on our part that only within the last one-and-half years we have been able to take part in the country's prestigious competitions. Due to the development, more boys and girls across the UT are coming to play the game. We are also going to organize coaching courses to educate our coaches."
Simultaneously, five-a-side futsal football is taking a giant leap in Ladakh. According to Angmo, all the district teams across the Union Territory are now playing futsal leagues. A final phase of the league is scheduled to begin on 2nd November before the champion team gets eligible to participate in the futsal national championship.

However, the LFA secretary regretted only on one point that the football clubs in Ladakh have not yet been active to the extent they should have been. Angmo said, “There are nearly 45 clubs across Ladakh. But several among them have not yet been active. They have not yet developed their grass route and youth programs. We have to make a thorough assessment and eliminate those clubs before the next football season starts.”
